Everything you need, it's all here. We call it "O Cha Teel" One of the newest Chinatowns in town.
Restaurants and Bars Over 40 of them here. From first class Chinese seafood restaurants to bamboo Chinese beach shacks. Mike's Burgers is one of the last Western food restaurants left. And Mike is a Khemerican!
Hotels The hotels here are just across the street from the beach, and going up 3 more streets. Some of the biggest and best hotels are here Also a few more guesthouses on South Ocheteaul Beach by the Otres river. MOST ALL of the hotels however are Chinese oriented, or just for gamblers at the associated casino. Great deals on rooms here now...
Other Things to do Many boat tours start from Ocheteaul Beach. There's Karaoke, Massage, Mentertainment and a casino or twenty five.... Onederz hostel and Smile Guesthouse may be the only places left to stay, though, under $50 a night. (about $12+)
A part of the beach is under construction for the next year or more.
Ocheteaul Beach is from the island pier, a few hundred meters from Serendipity Beach towards Central O.
. Central Ocheteaul Beach is in the middle. About a kilometer of sand and trees. Probably the nicest part of the beach now. No food shacks on the beach, just sand, grass, and trees. Food on the street though.
South Ocheteaul Beach has a few beach restaurants and a few hotels / casinos, and ends at a small river, where Otres Beach starts.
Getting Here From downtown, go towards the Golden Lion circle. Go to the second or third or fourth street around the circle and another 600 yards, you're there. It's about 5 minutes from downtown, ) and you might be able to get a tuk tuk taxi for a few dollars during the day. We use PassApp to book Tuk Tuks and it works pretty good.
South Ocheteaul is about a 10 minute walk to the left (facing the ocean). The Beach ends at a river. There are a few hotels / guesthouses here, and beach bar restaurants. Was very quiet and beautiful. You can walk on the over the river and on the road to get to Otres Beach. Or just drive.
Thanks to The Coastal Cambodia Guide for this "Not a Map" (about 95% incorrect now, though)
Central Ocheteaul Beach, pictured below, is located at the end of Ocheteaul Proper. There are no buildings, just sand, water, trees,
and some picnic tables and orange boxes.
This is about a 1 Kilometer stretch. A road (currently opened only to walkers or motorcycles) runs behind the beach.
